After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Psychology, Wendy started her family and then found her way into the world of optometry in 2007 and has been working as a vision therapist for 16 years.
She became a Certified Optometric Vision Therapist (COVT) in 2010 through the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) and completed certification with the Optometric Extension Program in 2024.
Wendy has served the Canadian Chapter of COVD creating and facilitating courses for other therapists and doctors. She is currently a mentor with COVD, helping other therapists obtain their certification.
In 2019 Wendy was awarded COVT of the Year at COVD's annual meeting in Kansas City, US. This is an award that means a lot to Wendy as this organization has been foundational in helping her grow and learn in her role as a vision therapist and mentor to others.
In her spare time you can find Wendy outdoors enjoying time with her family playing hockey, soccer, swimming, fishing, snowmobiling and camping. Wendy's passions include coaching sports and helping others reach their potential on and off the field.
In 2022 Wendy earned her certificate as a Yoga Instructor while attending a 3 weeks intensive course in the jungles of Costa Rica. She enjoys leading yoga classes in various settings including her local community centre, retreats, and one on one in her home.
